    The activity benefits from being presented in a graduated manner, to allow students to quickly gain independence and to work on their own, without the need for supervision, from one week to the next. The long duration allows the students to be immersed in the subject and promotes the long-term thinking of research work and of projects. The activity is similar to an internship work (typically 3 months), but is conducted only on a part-time basis (typically three half-days per week at the M2 level). The training through research is intended to provide knowledge, practices and skills that a course cannot provide. At M2 level, the LIU allows students to gain methodological skills. The LIU allows all the astrophysical themes treated in the PSL labs to be presented to Master students. In parallel with the first-semester courses, students discover a new subject, with the motivation to participate in an original work. The aim of this laboratory integration module is to allow Master’s students to discover the world of research and gain new skills through a research project.
