The Centre for the Study of Social Change applies the social sciences to understand humanity's most urgent problems and devising evidence-based solutions to address them.īased in the School of Psychological Science, the centre is in partnership with the Institute of Advanced Studies and provides an opportunity, unique in Australia, for collaborative research into social change. The centre offers opportunities for interdisciplinary and international collaborative research in order to link theoretical models and basic research findings in the cognitive sciences with outcomes focused on people with cognitive disorders. The jury is attentive to all elements gained through the module, expressed in terms of knowledge, method, skills, and / or practice.The School is home to three collaborative research centres.ĪRC Centre of Excellence in Cognition and its Disorders The LIU work is finalized by a report and a defense. The work of the laboratory integration module can continue with an internship in the second semester, but without any obligation for the supervisor to offer an internship to follow. 
The activity benefits from being presented in a graduated manner, to allow students to quickly gain independence and to work on their own, without the need for supervision, from one week to the next. The long duration allows the students to be immersed in the subject and promotes the long-term thinking of research work and of projects. The activity is similar to an internship work (typically 3 months), but is conducted only on a part-time basis (typically three half-days per week at the M2 level). The training through research is intended to provide knowledge, practices and skills that a course cannot provide. At M2 level, the LIU allows students to gain methodological skills. The LIU allows all the astrophysical themes treated in the PSL labs to be presented to Master students. In parallel with the first-semester courses, students discover a new subject, with the motivation to participate in an original work. The aim of this laboratory integration module is to allow Master’s students to discover the world of research and gain new skills through a research project.
